Brats, Rain, and Big Hearts: A Sunday Well Spent at Hansen’s Market

There’s nothing quite like the smell of sizzling brats on a Sunday—especially when it’s for a great cause! This past weekend, Discovering Pathways hit the grill at Hansen’s Market in Elkhorn, serving up delicious eats from the iconic Brat Hut and connecting with our incredible community.

Though the skies threatened to rain on our parade (and eventually did!), our founders, volunteers, and hungry patrons showed true Midwestern spirit—weathering the storm with smiles, umbrellas, and bratwursts in hand. Rain or shine, the support from our community never wavered, and neither did the good vibes.

Cooking for our neighbors isn’t just fun (though we admit, we had a blast)—it’s another way we live out our mission: expanding respite services and creating meaningful opportunities for adults with disabilities. Each brat flipped and bun served helped fuel our vision and spark important conversations about inclusion and care.

A huge thank you to Hansen’s Market for their generosity and for giving us the space (and the grill!) to share our story. And to everyone who stopped by, supported us, and braved the drizzle—you inspire us to keep pushing forward every single day.

We loved cooking for you. Let’s do it again soon!
